There's a new game coming soon from Atlus, the company behind Maken X and the Persona series. deSPIRIA tells the tail of a future world destroyed by war in which infant mortality rates have plummeted into single digits and the main characters in video games are hot chicks who can determine the true intentions of those around them by mind reading. In short, it looks to be typical fare from the company that likes to give us a yearly dose of the strange and occult.
You assume the role of 18-year-old Alura, born into an Osaka left in ruins. It's the year 2092, 22 years after the Psalms War of 2070. The war, in addition to leaving Osaka in ruin, wiped out two-thirds of the world's population. This was the true Great War, even larger than World Wars 1 and 2 from the 1900s, and its magnitude can be attributed to the advanced weapons of the time, which included a gene-based arsenal.
