If you're excited to play The Crew 2 when it debuts in just over a month's time, you better have your PC in order. It's not the most taxing game ever, but you won't get by with a 10-year old pre-built PC from a big box store. You'll need at least a graphics card from the past few years.
The Crew 2 is Ubisoft's sequel to its impressively successful racing MMO that takes the original experience and dials it up a few notches. There are hosts of cars, boats, planes, bikes, buggies and more to race with and against. As you might expect from a new racing game too, it's incredibly pretty. The question is, can your PC handle it?
To find out, Ubisoft's new minimum and recommended specifications will give you some idea of how your system measures up. Here's what you need:
Minimum specs
Intel Core i5-2400s or AMD FX-6100
Nvidia GTX 660 or AMD HD 7870
8GB of RAM
Windows 7 or later
That's pretty easy to match right? It'll only get you 1080P resolution, low-settings, and 30 frames per second. But everyone can match that. If you want to really experience the game as it's supposed to though, you'll need something a lot more.
Recommended specs
Intel Core i5 4690K or AMD Ryzen 5 1600
Nvidia GTX 1060, 970, or AMD RX 470
8GB of RAM
Windows 7 or later
That kind of hardware will get you an experience that has all settings on high, 60 frames per second and 1080P resolution. With full support for 4K resolution on PC though, you'll need to bump things up to at least a GTX 1070 or Vega 56 to be able to maintain 60 FPS for that sort of experience.
