According to Variety reporters Michael Fleming and Ben Fritz, EA is actively working on Dante's Inferno game.
In an unusual twist, four major studios, Paramount, Universal, MGM and New Regency, are currently in a bid war for the movie rights of the game.
The game's title is not yet confirmed, but it certainly is a modern interpretation of the first part of the Divine Comedy. EA trademarked the name "Dante's Inferno" back in February for use in videogames, movies and TV.
The game is scheduled for release late in 2009.
