If you thought some of the big game releases in recent months were a little heavy on the hard drive, then GTA V is going to put extra stress on your storage capacity, as it's install size is said to be as large as 65GB.
While that will take a while for the average gamer to download with their several megabit connections, perhaps the biggest scare will be put into SSD owners, who are much more likely to be maxing out their 100-200GB drives with such a game - especially if they have any other AAA titles from the last half year installed, many of which have topped out at over 50GB.
Fortunately then, Rockstar's intended April release date for the game has a pre-install period for those that have pre-ordered the game. You'll be able to begin downloading as soon as the 7th, which means even those with slow connections should be able to get the game ready in time, but that's still a sizeable bit of bandwidth.
The question is, will the install size turn you off from buying?
We talked a bit about game install sizes recently and how their growth could cause a divide in the gaming community. Perhaps GTA V is the beginnings of such a split?
