Rockstar Games has issued a new GTA Online patch, fixing a number of stability and performance issues. This follows the release of the Brute Force File update last week and the Agents of Sabotage update in December.
News in brief
- This is the first patch since the Agents of Sabotage update last month.
- It's small but mighty, and designed to fix several issues with the game's performance and stability.
- Full details are available in the patch notes on Rockstar Support's site.
Over the past few weeks, Rockstar has pushed several server side patches to fix issues, but this is the first downloadable patch since Agents of Sabotage landed in December.
The new patch, spotted by ApokalyptYT on X, is pretty small, coming in at around 281MB on PS5 (version number 1.008.001) and around 700MB on Xbox Series X|S (version number 1.8.1.0). It's designed to fix performance and stability issues across current generation platforms, with full details available in Rockstar Support's patch notes.
Stability and performance fixes include fixing issues with the game crashing, and fixing issues resulting in a crash in the "Gather Intel" for The Cayo Perico Heist, and while playing the "Pack Man" mission in GTA V, both on Xbox Series X|S consoles.
Earlier this month, a background update was issued via server side changes, which addressed a number of in-game issues, including overlapping tattoos when switching characters.
This patch follows the release of the game's latest update, The Brute Force File, which landed last week. Players will sneak into Fort Zancudo before making a break for it behind the wheel of a Scarab tank. There's an increased GTA$ payout for the weekly Priority File, plus optional mission challenges for all FIB Files from "Agents of Sabotage" which could earn players Career Progress rewards and bonus GTA$.
For GTA+ members, 2x GTA$ are available on Priority FIB files, but only until February 5. Plus, players can earn an impressive GTA$ 100,000 bonus for finishing any three FIB files and completing the new Weekly Challenge.
Everything else contained in the update is in the comprehensive patch notes.
