3D Realms confirmed that its upcoming action RPG, Bombshell, has gone gold and is on its way for release later this week.
Bombshell has been in development for little over 2 years. The game was originally supposed to launch two months ago, but it was delayed "for quality assurance purposes." 3D Realms' most recent title was Duke Nukem Forever which used to be "almost ready for release" since its reveal in 1997 until it was actually released 14 years later in 2011. Perhaps the fact that the game actually made its way to the market is more surprising than the 2 months delay.
Bombshell is an Action Role-Playing game in which bomb disposal technician turned mercenary for hire, Shelly "Bombshell" Harrison must strong-arm her way across 4 planets in an Unreal Engine-powered galactic adventure to rescue the president (and humanity) from an apocalyptic alien threat.
The game is set for release on January 29th for $34.99 USD standard, and $39.99 Digital Deluxe, which includes our 42-track official soundtrack, early beta access to the Bombshell Build Engine retro prequel, and digital artbooks and world map overviews.
Bombshell is available on Steam.
