The first update since the launch of For Honor across all platforms, has only targeted the PC userbase. Designed as more of a hotfix to clear up some bugs and problems with the game, no big balance changes or feature updates are included, but for those running into issues with For Honor since its debut, this should be a welcome patch.
The big one that a number of gamers have been struggling with, is the bizarre "error" that has blocked them from starting the game or joining the matchmaking system. That has now been cleared up, we're told, so should no longer bog down prospective hackers and slashers.
The other anti-cheat system change which Ubisoft has employed, is a more detailed explanation of what anti-cheat is doing. Should it block someone from playing or stop them doing anything else, it will tell them why, rather than just spitting out a generic error message.
More general fixes include:
- Steam controllers no longer cause players to be kicked out of a game.
- Shutdown process now no longer stores settings or causes other strange bugs to appear.
- The game no longer remains in the taskbar after closing.
- Full screen and borderless bugs should now no longer be present.
- Game no longer stars in windowed mode if you click outside it during startup.
- Alt enter no longer switches to borderless mode.
- Incorrect window positions are no longer stored in the options menu.
- Players trying to game on Intel HD graphics will be warned before play that they are not up to scratch.
That's about all for this patch, but there is a lot more coming down the pipeline.
