Many hardcore gamers believe that Call of Duty was at its best when it was a World War II shooter. The first Modern Warfare title in the series was a welcome change, but now that Activision has beaten that futuristic combat horse for 8 years straight, it is no wonder why a growing number of players are yearning for the series' WWII gameplay origins. Now, leaked photos have found their way to the internet, suggesting that this is exactly where the next Call of Duty is heading.
TheFamilyVideoGamers YouTube channel has received an anonymous email containing 5 pictures that look like marketing material and box art for a "Call of Duty WWII."
Prior statements from Activision are in line with the alleged leak. Late last year, the company stated in a financial report that the next installment from Sledgehammer would "take Call of Duty back to its roots." Nonetheless, there is absolutely nothing to confirm the authenticity of the supposedly leaked photos. The photos are certainly of professional quality level, but the exquisite fake Nintendo NX prototypes have already shown us that troll work can be of highest quality.
