Super Mario XP, starring the well loved Nintendo character, has taken the best gameplay elements out of the original games and added some from Castlevania.
The mix has created a game which is exciting and will satisfy both Mario fans and lovers of Castlevania-style gameplay. Mario gets to use traditional means to protect himself, i.e. jumping on his enemies but he also can use weapons such as a hammer or cross boomerang, creating a characteristic Castlevania feel.

The game maintains the simple, graphically, feel of the first Mario games but more than makes up for it by interesting gameplay.
