Game, Set, Fetch! is an arcade-style sports game inspired by the fast-paced tennis games of the SNES/N64 eras. It can be played single-player against a CPU, or with a friend via local multiplayer. Gameplay is twitchy, and each player has their own physical attributes and play-style.

Note: This game requires a gamepad with analog sticks (and an additional gamepad if playing multiplayer).

Features

  • Two unique playable dogs.
  • Singleplayer against an AI opponent with three difficulty settings.
  • Two-person local/couch multiplayer.
  • Customizable match length.
  • Two camera options (single-player only, multiplayer always uses an overhead camera).
  • Two distinct shot selection modes
    • Button input: traditional tennis game inputs, where each button maps to a type of shot (topspin, backspin, or lob).
    • Stick input: in this novel mode, shot selection is done by manipulating the right stick, similar to inputting commands in a fighting game. Tricky to master, but it's a little more immersive and can be a fun change-up from button mashing.
  • Silly ragdolls! Getting hit in the face is fun again! Perhaps it always was.
  • Practice mode: a pressure-free session with the ball machine.
  • A full interactive tutorial teaching everything you need to know to play a match.

Tested on Steam Deck, works well on medium graphics settings.
