Customize the outfits of Shepard and squad in and out of combat! Pick from hundreds of outfits, and install mods that add even more, all while being broadly compatible with other mods.

The aim of this mod is to bring the character customization capabilities of LE1 up to (and beyond) those of LE2 and LE3. To that end, this mod lets you pick a casual outfit not just for Shepard, but for the whole squad, and lets you override appearances in combat. This does not affect stats; it is purely cosmetic. There is a live preview of the currently applied outfit that you can rotate, zoom in on, and move up and down. This does not include face/hair customization at this point, though that is planned in the future.

The menu will open automatically after the character creator and before the prologue so you can customize your appearance even for the prologue. After that, you can access it from the lockers in the Normandy Vehicle bay. A locker has been added for Shepard.

There are hundreds of vanilla outfits available in the menu: every armor appearance (including unobtainable armors and some unused appearances), full support for helmets and every vanilla breather, and every vanilla NPC casual outfit (along with color and texture variations of those outfits from across the trilogy). Best of all, other mods can add new outfits, helmets, and breathers to the menu without any conflicts.

Other features of this mod

  • cycle between no helmet, helmet without breather, or helmet with breather in the squad screen or the appearance mod menu
  • squad screen will now show you in your current appearance rather than always being in armor
  • optionally hide helmets during conversations and cinematics and restore them after
  • choose to ignore situations where the game would force a full breather on the characters and control the helmet visibility in a granular way instead
  • optionally put Liara in armor during her recruitment mission or on Virmire
  • optionally access the menu from anywhere from inside the equipment screen, including customizing squadmates who are not in the party at the time
  • optionally customize squad mate appearances before you recruit them
  • use armor appearances in casual situations or non armor appearances in combat situations
  • squadmates can wear their equipped armor even when they are not in the party (such as during Virmire)
  • fixed up the models on the male unobtainable armors so there are no longer gaps in the mesh
  • other mods can change the armor used in the character creator, including varying it by class
  • various breathers ported for use by human male, human female, and Asari

Planned future features

  • face/hair customization for Shepard
  • romance appearance customization
  • other NPCs in the menu for outfit customization
  • possibly an armor parts or armor tint system
  • ability to override specific vanilla armor appearances per character without introducing conflicts
  • override default casual/combat/romance appearances for a character

Installation:
You must install this mod using ME3Tweaks Mod Manager. Manual installation is not supported and will not work. You must have the config merging feature enabled for this mod to work (default, but can be changed for compatibility with much older mods).
It is safe to add or remove this mod at any point in a playthrough.
To remove, it is safe to just disable/delete the DLC mod in the Manage Target section of the mod manager. You also need to re merge the coalesced/bin file. Mod manager should do this automatically.
To fully remove it, you will also need to restore SFXGame.pcc from a backup, which will break a number of other mods that also touch that file until you reinstall them. It is safe to leave the sfxgame modifications in place.

Requirements
This mod has no dependencies beyond the mod manager used to install it. That said, the LE1 Community Patch is strongly recommended, as it fixes a number of bugs and provides the mod settings menu that adds various options to this mod. It will work without it, but you will be stuck with the default options.
