Starfield Transfer Spaceships Across Universes Mod v1.0 Starfield Transfer Spaceships Across Universes Mod v1.0 Starfield Transfer Spaceships Across Universes Mod v1.0 Starfield Transfer Spaceships Across Universes Mod v1.0

SFSE plugin that allows you to export and import spaceships (both layout and interior decoration).

The mod is Console based, there is no UI.

There are 3 commands: ExportShip, ImportShipLayout and ImportShipInterior.

Export a Spaceship:

Preparations:

1. Make sure you're inside the ship you'd like to export.

Process:

1. Open the Console and type: ExportShip "Ship name".

1.1: Notes: leave the brackets; replace "Ship name" with an actual name; use double quotes for multi-word names.

Post-process:

Recommended to exit the game afterward as crunched ship data might be lingering in the memory after the process.

Import a Spaceship - layout, modules, stats:

Preparations:

1. Importing is currently supported to the homeship so make sure you select one that you're comfortable with overwriting.

1. 1: the layout importer technically doesn't create a new ship, it can import a ship to the current homeship.

2. Make sure you're not inside the homeship.

3. The homeship's base form must be runtime created.

3.1: to achieve this, just simply modify the homeship in the Spaceship Editor Menu (any modification will do).

4. The plugin doesn't check whether you have the required Piloting Skill rank to be able to actually fly the ship.

4.1: see optional feature No Piloting Skill Requirement if you'd like to disable the vanilla hardcoded restriction.

5. Layouts of non modifiable ships (e.g. Starborn ship) cannot be imported (as they can be easily placed in the Console).

5.1: they can be exported though because interior decoration items can be imported from them.
Process:

1. Open the Console and type: ImportShipLayout "Ship name"

1.1: command formatting rules apply (e.g. leave the brackets).

2. Once the importing is complete (Console log gives feedbacks), create a manual save game then exit Starfield.

3. Reload this save game, visit a Ship Services Technician and edit the imported ship (now homeship). Any modification will do.
Post-process:

1. Recommended to try to fly the ship "manually" first (i.e. not with Fast Travel) in case you don't have the required Piloting Skill rank.
Import a Spaceship - interior decoration items:

Preparations:

1. Make sure you're inside the ship you'd like to import the decorations items to.

2. Note that by default the plugin imports items which were placed in Decoration Mode.

2.1: you can change this in the INI.
Process:

1. Open the Console and type: ImportShipInterior "Ship name"

1.1: command formatting rules apply (e.g. leave the brackets).
Post-process:

1. The game may need a few seconds to recalculate items selectable in Decoration Mode.

1.1: if imported non movable items (e.g. Containers) cannot be selected, simply create a save then reload it to trigger recalc.

Configuration options - exclude, include items and more:

Settings are in ..\Starfield\Data\SFSE\Plugins\TransferSpaceships.ini.

There are many settings like exclude certain decoration items, clean the interior before import, whether to allow importing non Decoration Mode built items and so on.

The INI contains description for each setting.

Spaceship blueprints:

Exported spaceships are in ..\Starfield\Data\SFSE\Plugins\Spaceships.

The blueprints are .txt files. (Human readable but due to ships' complexity, a single .txt can easily be ~200 kilobytes and >5000 lines of text).

No Piloting Skill Requirement - optional feature:

Optional feature (disabled by default) to bypass the Piloting Skill requirement to fly any spaceship.

You can enable it in the INI.

Requirements:

  • SFSE
  •  Starfield v1.14.74.
