Resident Evil 7: Biohazard is getting a lot of love from gamers and critics who praise the game for returning the franchise to its horrific origins. The game is scary enough as it is, but 10% of players decided to dial it up a notch by playing it in virtual reality using PSVR.
This statistic comes from the game's official website which displays live statistics collected from players who agreed to share their data with the company. Of the more than 980,000 players who opted in, nearly 92,000 had played the game in virtual reality mode at the time of writing.
The statistics also shed light on how gamers play the game. In addition to run-of-the-mill stats such as total in-game time (more than 907 years) and total in-game distance traveled (more than 20,000,000 Km), we were intrigued to find that most players actually killed their enemies using headshots which account to 76% of total kills. Landing a headshot in Resident Evil will never feel the same again now that we know how common it actually is.
Resident Evil 7: Biohazard is a PSVR exclusive title, which means that Oculus and Vive owners won't be able to play it in VR on PC; at least not before the end of the year when the exclusivity deal between Sony and Capcom runs out.
