10 year old kid is making a Magicka CCG

What were you doing when you were 10? For me it was running around the garden, playing Euro 96 and Theme Hospital on the PC and plastering my Warhammer models in terribly thick coats of paint.

Ethan though, is far more industrial than that. Instead of lounging around enjoying life, he's been busy working. Working on something awesome: a Magicka collectible card game. Better yet, the developers of the spell slinging series, Paradox, liked his pitch video so much that they've granted him the license.

So now, as you might expect, Ethan and his Dad (who helped a bit, we're told) are looking to the game and they need a couple of thousand dollars to do it. At the time of writing the campaign has already smashed its initial goal of just $2,500, so it's going to be made.

You can still contribute though. The early bird buy of just $15 will get you the full card set when it's released in July this year, with free shipping to the U.S. International orders will need to put another $12 down to cover shipping.

The game features the same elemental combining as the Magicka games, though as is often the case with dangerous spellcasting, Magicka Mayhem features things that can go wrong. Sometimes you get attacked by a fuzzy bunny, sometimes it just blows up in your face - but sometimes it wipes out the other players and that's a good thing.

Even if you aren't a fan of this type of game, you have to be impressed at the developmental skills of a 10 year old. I can't even come up with a good CCG in my late 20s.
