D3Publisher and Warner Bros. announced a licensing agreement for DC Comics/Vertigo's 100 Bullets, allowing D3PE to develop and publish console, handheld, and PC games based on the renowned comic book series. The first game is scheduled for release in Q3 2007.
According to Scott Johnson, vice president of business development for Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, the comic's studio will provide full support to the developer and will ...utilize source material... in order to maintain authenticity and produce a game that will have the same feel as the comic.
100 Bullets is an innovative crime-noir series that combines powerful story telling with non-stop action, so its transition to games should produce an intersting result.
Written by contemporary comic book writer Brian Azzarello and illustrated by award-winning artist Eduardo Risso, 100 Bullets is part crime story and part espionage thriller. It tells the interrelated stories of people who are given the chance to take deadly revenge against those who have done them wrong with no strings attached.
