Two weeks ago we reported about rumors that Nintendo is working on a dual-analog successor for its flailing 3DS. The French sources that leaked the news also reported that Nintendo is working on a new peripheral that adds a second analogue stick to the 3DS when attached.
This peripheral has been confirmed now by Japanese Famitsu magazine, lending credibility to the report.
Famitsu magazine revealed that this peripheral will clip on to the whole 3DS console, protruding by 1cm to the left, 3cm to the right and 2cm to the bottom. It will require a single AAA battery to operate and it will sell for 1,500¥ (roughly $20 US).
The first 3DS game to take advantage of the peripheral is Monster Hunter 3G 3DS. Other titles that have been confirmed to support the peripheral are Resident Evil Revelations, Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater 3D, Ace Combat 3D Cross Rumble, Dynasty Warriors VS and Kingdom Hearts 3D.
The peripheral has been confirmed by the official Nintendo hardware site.
