Swedish non-profit MuchDifferent has hosted the world's largest FPS (First Person Shooter) battle with almost a thousand players participating in one match.
To be more precise, exactly 999 players participated in a fast paced lag-free battle in Man vs. Machine FPS game.
The match was set up to test-drive Unity Engine's new network technology that allows hundreds of players to play simultaneously and lag-free. The experiment was deemed a success and MuchDifferent is now working to release the new network technology to developers around the world.
