Sega has won its appeal to the Australian Ratings Board, which decided to reverse its earlier decision and grant Aliens vs. Predator an age rating, allowing it to be released in the continent.
It is common for game developers to release a toned down version of their Australian banned games in order to be able to release them down under. Sega, however, decided not to do so, stating that Aliens vs. Predator is meant for adult audience.
"We are particularly proud that the game will be released in its original entirety, with no content altered or removed whatsoever," a Sega spokesperson commented on the ban reversal.
"This is a big win for Australian gamers. We applaud the Classification Review Board on making a decision that clearly considers the context of the game, and is in line with the modern expectations of reasonable Australians."
