If you thought there were no more industries for Amazon to invest in, think again, as it looks like the online retailer is now going to start producing its own digital games content. This news come to light from the fact that Amazon has posted as many as 26 separate job openings at "Amazon Game Studios," which doesn't leave much to the imagination.
Some of the positions it's currently hiring for include: Senior Game Engineer, Lead Visual Effects Artist, Senior Graphics , Platform Engineer, Sr. Tools Engineer, Senior Game Economy Designer and Lead Technical Artist, so if any of those jobs match your experience and skillset, it might be worth giving the company a bell.
What's perhaps impressive however, is that Amazon has already hired on a number of industry veterans to begin work on whatever its new project is. They include people that have previously worked on games like Bioshock 2, Half Life 2, Halo, Infamous, Left for Dead, Shadow of Mordor and many more.
It's thought likely that with this staff pedigree and a previous licensing deal struck with Crytek, that Amazon would be producing some truly high-end experiences and not some mobile title specifically for its Fire devices.
It certainly has the capital to get into the publishing and developmental game without worrying too much about overheads. What do you think Amazon will produce?
