Although both Intel and AMD have been forthcoming with some of their CPU roadmap details, both companies tend to keep the good stuff close to their respective chests, as you might imagine. However, that doesn't stop third-parties from dropping information bombs on us and that's what German IT distributor Bluechip has done recently, with the reveal of both companies' roadmaps in detail for the next year.
A 30-minute seminar it hosted wasn't supposed to go live to the public, but it did, revealing a tantalizing series of slides (captured by VideoCardz) that show what AMD and Intel have planned for the next 12 months.
What starts with an AMD Raven Ridge reveal in February and Intel's H370/B360/H310 debuts in April, as already expected, AMD is slated to release its Z490 chipset in June, followed by the B450 platform in July. Threadripper 2 on the TR4 chipset won't be coming until August however, bringing with it the X399 refresh that's been hotly anticipated.
Intel will also be debuting a new chipset towards the end of the near, the Z390. That won't arrive until Q3, but the slide tells us that we can expect the first eight-core engineering samples to go out around June.
Also of interest in other slides, is that AMD plans to kill off its FM2+ chipset in Q2 2018, so fans of the older FX chips will have nothing new to look forward to in a few months' time. AM3+ will continue on well into the second-half of this year though according to the info dump.
