Utilizing two 55nm processor cores, AMD's R680 Graphics Processor was announced today.
Each of the two cores has identical specs to AMD's RV670 GPU but AMD refused to confirm if the new R680 consists of two unmodified RV670s or not.
RV670 was announced about a month ago along with the Phenom CPU. RV670 is the first 55nm GPU, but it was never meant for high end use.
AMD also announced RV620 and RV635 GPU cores which are almost identical to their predecessors, the RV610 and RV630 GPUs, but produced on the 55nm node.
All three GPUs are scheduled to launch next month.
