AMD has lost more than half of its discrete GPU market share in less than 12 months.
According to data collected and released by Mercury Research, AMD's discrete GPU market share has dropped from 38% in Q2 2014 to 18% in Q2 2015. Needless to say, this is good news to NVIDIA whose market share rose from 62% to 82% over the same period.
Last year NVIDIA released the GTX TITAN, the GTX 980 and the GTX 980 Ti, all significantly more powerful than their AMD's counterparts. The first decent AMD cards released in years are Radeon R9 Fury and Fury X, both of which were released in Q3 2015.
