In the back and forth game of graphics card performance and pricing, AMD may be set to counter Nvidia's recent 1660 Ti debut by making its two most capable mainstream graphics cards, the RX 590 and RX 580, even more cost competitive. While the 1660 Ti might out compete them both at the $280 price range, AMD may bring both cards down to significantly lower than that.
This rumor comes from BitsAndChips, which claims that the RX 590 will see its price dip from $280+ as it stands, to a base price of $230. The RX 580, which can be found for around $240 depending on where you shop, will see its price cut to just $200, we're told.
Rumor: MSRP of RX580 8GB at 199$ and of RX590 at 229$ in next weeks.

Such prices would put these cards under the cost of the GTX 1060, and noticeably less than the 1660 Ti. Although Nvidia's newer Turing card is more powerful, it's only around 20 percent more so. It's a great 1080P gaming card, but so are the RX 590 and RX 580. Unless you have a specific game that makes these cards noticeably worse off than Nvidia's counterpart, the saving would likely be worth it for most.
