Now that graphics card prices are reaching normal levels once again, AMD is hoping to pull in potential upgraders with some expansive gaming deals for new and upcoming titles. Its "Raise the Game," bundle deal offers new graphics card buyers three brand new games to play on their upgraded hardware.
The games on offer with this deal are Star Control: Origins, Strange Brigade, and Assassin's Creed Odyssey, which together are worth around $100. While some might prefer it if AMD just slashed that much off of the price of its GPUs, it still represents an impressive deal.
These games offer very different experiences to one another. The first is a cartoonish XXXX title that sees you taking on aliens, exploring planets, and discovering the history of a universe that has been getting on just fine without humans for billions of years. Assassin's Creed: Odyssey takes the game in a decidedly Greek direction, introducing a new world to explore, more ship to ship combat, magical powers, and another chapter in the AC universe.
Strange Brigade is more like Left 4 Dead in Egypt, with mummies instead of zombies.
To be eligible for it you'll need to buy one of AMD's qualifying graphics cards: an AMD RX 580, RX 570, Vega 56, or Vega 64.
Some have suggested this new bundle is just designed to clear old stock before Nvidia's new-gen cards make these uncompetitive. It could be a hint at a Vega refresh in the future too. Don't hold your breath though. We don't really expect anything new from AMD in the GPU space until 2019 at the earliest.
