Unsurprisingly, since Nintendo released its range of Amiibo figures, many people have begun collecting them like they're Disney Infinity or Skylanders figures. And why not, Nintendo characters are great! But the problem comes when you want to take those same figures somewhere else to use them, as that's a lot of plastic to haul around.
Never fear though. A new (unofficial) accessory for the Wii U could solve that. It's called Amiiqo and it has the ability to store as many as 200 Amiibo's data on your smartphone. That means that you can take your digital pals with you wherever you go without a giant bag full of figures.
However, you will need an NFC enabled Android smartphone (no iOS version has been released as of yet) as it manages which Amiibo is being sent through to the Wii U at any one time.
It all works pretty well too according to early reviews, with the only real downside being that each NFC enabled puck is $75 a pop.
Another potential problem too, is that the Amiiqo is said to come pre-equipped with 10 Amiibo, skipping over making buyers also buy those specific Amiibo, which we can't imagine Nintendo would be happy with.
If you want one of these, go and get one now as chances are a team of expert Japanese lawyers is currently working to shut this down.
