Chins are wagging over a recent update to Rockstar Games' 'warehouse' store, as new apparel choices for one of its older franchises, Bully, have appeared in the past few days. The school-age GTA-like game was originally released in 2006 to highly positive reviews, but little has been seen of the franchise since then, unlike some of Rockstar's other properties.
Could it be that Bully is set to make a resurgence?
The evidence is certainly mounting as on top of Rockstar's apparel additions, Game Informer reportedly created a listing for a Bully 2 game called "Kevin's Back Jack." The page was swiftly taken down, but of course Redditors were able to get screen grabs and found a Google cache of the page, so it definitely existed. While Game Informer is now publicly stating it's unsure why the page was created, it adds to the pile of evidence that suggests a new Bully game is in the works and could be announced as soon as E3 next week.
Bully is certainly a franchise that fans have clamoured for a sequel to for many years. While it doesn't have quite the popular following as Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption, it's a relatively untapped market for school-age protagonist and though the original did deal with some dark themes, it was a slightly less anarchic title for a Rockstar creation.
Do you think we'll see a new Bully game announced at this year's E3?
