Apple is allegedly working with famous optics manufacturer, Zeiss, to design and produce a pair of augmented reality glasses.
The news was reported by longtime industry expert Robert Scoble who claims to have been told by a Zeiss employee at CES 2017 that they were working with Apple on the unannounced VR glasses.
This report follows a series of rumors that came about over the past few months claiming that Apple was aiming to enter the virtual reality hardware market. The rumors were also compounded by Tim Cook's comments that virtual reality glasses would eventually become as commonplace as smartphones are today.
If the rumor is to be believed, the glasses will most likely make it to the market in 2018 though a 2017 release is not ruled out.
