Special editions releases of games are nothing new, with almost every AAA release coming with a model, art book, season pass and more for those willing to shell out a couple of hundred dollars for the privilege. Sometimes though, those special editions take it to the extreme and that's exactly what Assassin's Creed Origins has done. The next game in the long-running Assassin's Creed series will have a special edition that will set back buyers a full $800.
Announced at Ubisoft's pre-E3 conference, the Legendary Edition of Assassin's Creed Origins comes with a whole host of extras, from a digital version of the game, to a season pass, to art cards, a world map, lithographs and more.
It's the model that makes up the bulk of the added cost though, as it's one of just a thousand of them and it's huge, measuring 73cm in height. While it's pricey though, Ubisoft is offering up to 20 percent off pre-orders of the Legendary Edition if you have enough Ubisoft Club Points.
Of course this isn't the only special edition of the game. Ubisoft commonly releases multiple different editions of a game and this is just the biggest and baddest of the lot, but as PCGamer points out, it doesn't get you everything. The Legendary Edition misses out on the Bayek eagle skull amulet, the Bayer figurine on the Sekhmet statue and the standard Bayek and Senu figurine.
In total there are six different versions of Assassin's Creed Origins you can buy, all with different additions, different boxes and extras. For a full breakdown of all of them and what you get, visit Ubisoft's store, here.
