Assassin's Creed 4 Will Be On The High Seas

AC4

The next Assassin's Creed game will feature a lot more of the ship to ship combat we saw during Assassin's Creed III. Known as Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag, presumably there will be an element of piracy involved, as it will set in the Caribbean during the 18th century.

This all comes from some leaked marketing material for the game, which features the typical series protagonist in his white hood, wielding blades and pistols pointed at some pirating types on the deck of a ship that's hoisted the Jolly Roger. According to other information revealed, this time around you'll be playing the grandfather of AC3's Connor: a Brit named Edward Kenway.

However other speculation suggests it'll go the other way, with players taking on the role of one of Connor's descendants fighting in the Civil war.

Expected to be released on current as well as next-gen consoles, AC4: Black Flag could be very pretty indeed - especially since the ship combat in AC3 looked so good already. The guessed release date at this point is Christmas 2013, based on a rumour by a Redditor who claimed to have seen a woman working on marketing materials for upcoming Ubisoft games while on a plane.
