The next Assassin's Creed game is still up in the air as far as everyone official is concerned, but not so if you're a fan of leaks or a Swiss retailer, as Assassin's Creed: Empire has once again shown up in the wild.
The game has been hinted at and leaked a few times over the past few months and in this case it's no different. Swiss retailer WOG has a product page for the game listed for the Xbox One, slated for release at some point in the fourth quarter of this year. That would line up nicely with when we expected the next Assassin's Creed game to show up, so seems certainly possible.
The listing hasn't been removed yet. Read into that what you will.
There are no screenshots and there's no information about the game though, so it's certainly possible that WOG just threw the page up as a placeholder and fancied grabbing some extra traffic for its trouble, but it could go either way.
Regardless though, we're all pretty certain that Empire is the next Assassin's Creed game and all hints point to it taking place in Egypt, sending our protagonist back to the dust bowl of the Middle East and Northern Africa for the first time since the first game.
What do you guys think? Do you think WOG was just after some publicity, or is this really a listing for the next Assassin's Creed game?
Perhaps more importantly, do you care? Is AC Empire something you're excited about?
