The Assassin's Creed series was always ripe for a movie adaptation, so it's great to see our first real glimpse of what it will look like when it finally comes to the big screen.
Michael Fassbender plays the main character, Callum Lynch / Aguilar and is pronounced dead shortly into the trailer (and presumably the movie too). From there, he becomes one with the Animus machine and heads back to the past, just like the Assassin gamers have played in each AC experience before.
The movie seems to take itself quite seriously, which fans of the AC games will no doubt appreciate, though if we don't get at least one "re-load" joke after he accidentally falls off of a ledge, or misjumps into a bale of hay, I'll be disappointed.
Not much is revealed in the trailer which is nice considering how often big action movies reveal all of the plot before we even get half way through. Of course we know the general gist though: the Templars need to be taken down and the company behind the Animus machine and its plans is not as goody two shoes as it makes out.
Assassin's Creed the movie is set for release on 21st December this year.
