Now that ATI has Crossfire done and dusted the Canadians are preparing to woo us with their next offering, the oddly codenamed Fudo chip.
It was not a long time ago when rivals nVidia were claiming that their next boards, based on the G70 design, will rule supreme over the benchmark world, as far as single cards are concerned since the company was certain that the SLI-brotherhood would remain at the top.
The latest news from the ATI camp however, is claiming that nVidia's days at the peak of mount 3DMark are numbered as the R520 (Fudo) is expected to score over 10,000 marks. Now imagine that in a crossfire setup and you can understand that the game is afoot once more.
It is worrying however, that hardware manufacturers are so eager to release benchmark scores even before they actually let us know the various technical specs of their new products. For the R520 there is no confirmed clock speed or other details but we now have a confirmed >10,000 3DMarks score. Since there is no confirmed release schedule for the new boards either, all this information seems just a bit irrelevant for the time being, we do however, look forward to the R520.
