Back 4 Blood has brought in over 10 million slayers to its spiritual Left 4 Dead successor formula, making it a monster success. To celebrate, the developers at Turtle Rock have announced the first expansion: Tunnels of Terror. Set to debut on April 12, the new expansion will bring in additional cleaners, new warped ridden, a new PvE activity known as Ridden Hives, and a lot more.
Back 4 Blood is Left 4 Dead without Valve's influence, which for some is good enough, as they've wanted a new L4D game for a decade, but for some, it's lacking that flair that made the original so great. Whatever way you lean, though, Back 4 Blood has been an awesome success for Turtle Rock -- perhaps well deserved after the inspired, but ultimately lacklustre Evolve fell flat on its face.
After 10 million purchases, Back 4 Blood is a big enough success that it should stick around for some time to come, and Tunnels of Terror is its first big expansion. The new Cleaners include firefighter Sharice with her trusty axe, and restaurant owner Heng. There will be eight new skins for existing characters, seven new legendary weapons, and a bunch of new cards to play with.
Ridden Hives will see players explore seven dungeon-like levels below the city that need clearing of the ridden, and you'll need to contend with the new Warped Ridden, which are doubly dangerous.
If you don't want to buy Tunnels of Terror, you can still play it with your friends, as long as one person owns it. Alongside this expansion, a new free update will add the No Hope difficulty for those needing an extra challenge.
