No sooner had the news of its gold status reached our ears and we managed to get the first details of the Battlefield 2 demo which should be released in a little more over a week.
EA has confirmed that Battlefield 2 has gone gold and should make its shipping date of June 21, 2005. According to messages posted on the Australian EA messageboards, a demo of the game will become available sometime before the ship date and should give gamers a decent taste of the game. The demo, expected on Friday June 10, will offer one map with a 16-player single player mode and a 16 and 32-player multiplayer mode. It is expected that there will be a time limit imposed on every round.
In Battlefield 2, players will choose to fight for one of three military superpowers: the United States, China, or the newly formed Middle East Coalition. Armed with the latest modern weaponry, players can take control of any of the game's 30+ vehicles. Players can also hone their skills against improved enemy intelligence in the new single-player campaign before competing online with up to 64 players in some of the most intense battles on the PC.
