If you are eagerly awaiting to hear when the Battlefield Hardline open beta will begin, then today is the day to keep your eyes and ears peeled and to the ground respectively, as head of developer Visceral, Steve Papoutsis said yesterday that his company would reveal all of the details about the upcoming open play session on the 29th.
"We’ll share the exact dates and info on the Battlefield Hardline open beta tomorrow," he said in an address to the community on the current state of the game. "Stay tuned, thanks again, and keep that feedback coming."
People have been speculating on what the date for the beta might be for a while now, with most thinking it will begin on February 3. However we'll have to wait until later today to find out.
In the mean time, check out the Battlefield Hardline developer diary below, as it covers some of the changes that Visceral has made to the game since its original unveiling and alpha testing, at which time people complained that it didn't really feel more like a cops and robbers game and instead was more akin to a standard battlefield game, but with more driving.
Much of the changes Visceral has made are designed to improve that, as well as tweaking progression and the way recoil is visualised.
