Star Wars Battlefront's release last year was a big one, with EA and Dice making a killing on the series reboot and the first, big Star Wars game in a while. Still, not everyone was so keen on it and in-fact, a lot of fans were more interested in the game that was supposedly in development before, known as Galaxy in Turmoil, or rather the third game in the original Battlefront series.
That was never released, but now it looks like it might be in one form or another, as fans have been remaking the game themselves, along with Russian outfit Frontwire Studios and now they've been given the thumbs up by Valve to distribute it on Steam.
While there is still the question of whether Disney will allow the game to be released, since it owns the Star Wars rights, clearly Valve doesn't think that will be a problem.
"After ongoing discussion between Valve Representatives and myself, Valve/Steam has agreed to ship Galaxy in Turmoil to it’s millions of users for free. While this is undoubtedly a big step and accomplishment for Frontwire Studios itself, it’s an even bigger step for you, the community," reads the announcement."
They went on to thank Valve for agreeing to help publish the game and suggested that anyone who's a fan of the Star Wars universe give the game a try, "it'll pay off for everyone involved," they said.
