The Binding of Isaac has been a brilliantly successful game for Edmund McMillen and it continues to be with new DLC updates and patches. The next addition to the world of surreal, fleshy creations is tentatively titled Afterbirth †, which is not the same as the previous Afterbirth we're told.
Set to arrive sometime next year, the new DLC will add some additional bosses to the game, a few new transformations and items, but the big news is that it is going to make mod tools available for gamers at home to make extra additions to the game. This makes the room editor a lot more user friendly and allows for the tweaking of item pools to make certain items more or less likely to appear and even changing where and when they can show up.
There will even be the ability to make entirely new game modes and possibly even games within the world of Isaac and his basement exploration.
Another addition is an in-game bestiary to help you keep track of all the cancerous flesh-sacks you've dispatched.
Are you a fan of Binding of Isaac? It's far from a contemporary game at this point even if it has received a number of big updates.
