Breaking: Nintendo Switch Is (Allegedly) Hacked For Good

Team-Xecuter, a hacking group with a history of breaking consoles protection that goes as far back as the original PlayStation, claims that it has found an unfixable way to break Nintendo Switch protection.

The group did not share any details about their method, but they claimed that it is "future-proof" and that it will run on all current and future firmware versions and that Nintendo has no way to block it.

"This solution will work on ANY Nintendo Switch console regardless of the currently installed firmware, and will be completely future proof. This is *the* solution for opening up CFW (Custom FirmWare) on the Nintendo Switch," said Team-Xecuter on their blog. "We want to move the community forward and provide a persistent, stable and fast method of running your own code and custom firmware patches on Nintendo's latest flagship product. And we think we've succeeded!"

Breaking hardware security would allow gamers to run homebrew games and emulators on the Switch, but it can – and usually is – be used to run pirated games as well.

Team-Xecuter intends to release their hack in Spring 2018. In the meanwhile, they released the following teaser along with the decryption key of the Switch's STAGE 2 of the booloader so that tech gurus can verify their claims.
