Remember that short demo of the Silent Hills playable teaser from last year? It took the gaming world by storm for a few weeks as people marvelled at what a modern take on that classic horror series might be like. Still it was not to be, as the game's development was cancelled shortly after.
But perhaps that doesn't matter, as a small team of developers from Lilith Ltd has shown off a prototype gameplay trailer for its horror title, Allison Road, and it has more than a nod to to the Silent Hills demo buried in its core.
To avoid spoilers, the developers separated this video off from the main game, so the assets are not final, the story elements are not part of the finished experienced and in reality, everything we see here may not be included in the final game. But it is what the final game will be like.
The game's visuals are impressive for such a small team, although it must help that the game is set within the confines of a house. Many items can be picked up and moved around in that environment though, giving the player lots of functionality and the ability to further investigate their environment.
It's these sorts of mechanics that will come into play in the main game as players try and stay alive and figure out just what the hell is going on.
Does it intrigue you or remind you of the Silent Hills demo?
