Burnout Paradise is getting an official remaster

Burnout Paradise is one of the most beloved car racing, car crashing and car destructing games ever released and though it's starting to show its age a little, it still looks fantastic. That's only going to improve this March, when it's getting an official remastering, complete with new visual improvements, as well as 4K resolution support and up to 60 FPS gameplay on the PS4 Pro and Xbox One for the first time.

"When people think of Criterion Games, they often remember the Burnout franchise and for good reasons. What we created 10 years ago, we feel is still fun and unique to this day in the gaming industry," said Matt Webster, General Manager at Criterion Games (via AllGamesDelta). "Burnout Paradise is an arcade racer built to provide players the thrill of racing with their friends, in a free form way that was both seamless and immersive, but also a little crazy with all the different stunts and crashes players could pull off. With the release of this remaster, we’re able to share this action-packed ride with a whole new generation of players."

The main reason for the remastering is to improve the visuals of the original Burnout Paradise, though the game is also being added to the official support list for Windows 10 PCs, Xbox One X and PS4 Pro consoles. All of them will be able to enjoy 4K resolutions, alongside a number of technical improvements and enhancements to the game's traditional experience. They'll all get the eight Paradise expansions and DLC packs too.

The remastered Burnout Paradise will release on March 9 on PC through EA Access' Play First Trial, with the worldwide release happening across all platforms on March 16.
