Activision Blizzard's next Call of Duty, WWII, may come to the Nintendo Switch if rumors are to be believed. Although the game has so far only been confirmed for the PS4, Xbox One and PC, a small notice on the game's official site has some people wondering if a Nintendo Switch version of the game will be released too. If true, it would be the first time in five years that a CoD game was released on a Nintendo system, the last being Black Ops II on the Wii.
The possibility of the port was raised by BadFive, which spotted that on the Call of Duty: WWII website, there were options to link Activision accounts with accounts from the PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Steam and now Nintendo Switch accounts.
While that doesn't prove that the game is coming to the Switch, it does suggest it's a real possibility. To back up that evidence, BadFive is also claiming that an anonymous source confirmed that the Switch will get a version of the game too. The port however, is said to be under development at an unnamed third party, suggesting that it may be slightly different to the version that hits other platforms.
Kotaku has other hints at a potential for a Switch release of the game too, in that Activision has been hanging out with some folks at Canadian developer, Beenox, which could be the subsidiary that's doing the work on the rumored port.
It's not guaranteed, but it does seem increasingly likely that CoD is making its way back to Nintendo hardware.
