When the Call of Duty Infinite Warfare reveal trailer was released, many millions of series' fans from around the world just weren't impressed with what it showed. The futuristic combat seemed much like more of the same, the graphics weren't as impressive as people hoped and there didn't seem to be any particularly new features to hold the game together.
However all that's changed since the game's showing at this year's E3. It goes into much more detail with the way the game will actually play, showing small arms combat in zero G, as much as it does airborne combat without the aid of an atmosphere.
Flying between the debris particularly impressed crowds and Infinity Ward has done a pretty solid job when it comes to the size of the game which is larger than ever. Flying around the huge open space environments, using grappling hooks and magnetic boots to keep yourself strapped to the space station you're fighting over - all the while using new and powerful assault weapons, explosives and melee weapons to take the fight to the enemy.
The anti-gravity grenades look particularly fun, sending enemy soldiers into suspended animation in the air while you cut them apart.
Of course none of this shows us what the multiplayer will be like, which is a shame as that's where the longevity of the game will likely come from - but then those epic single player set pieces do have a way of selling a game.
