Captain Mode Brings Bannerlord's AI control to multiplayer

Mount and Blade II: Bannerlord is bringing a lot of exciting changes to the open world sandbox RPG experience, but its multiplayer is getting a shake up too. Along with the mass PVP battles, siege gameplay and a duel system, it's also introducing something called Captain Mode, which will give each player control of their own squad of AI soldiers in battle.

There are six classes to choose from in the game mode, each drawing from different cultures, equipped with different weapons and armor, giving different options and ways to play. Think of For Honor, but with some ranged armaments and AI control.

Perks give you additional customization options, letting you choose different extra troops, better weapons, new abilities and other ways of tweaking your squad's loadout too.

Bannerlord will allow for much larger battles than its predecessor games, even in multiplayer, so Captain Mode will bring some of the big AI conflicts online. That means the battles will last longer and will allow strategic and tactical thinkers to weigh their skills against others, instead of focusing entirely on player driven hand to hand combat.

If that's still not enough for you, you'll even be able to run mods on private servers, which based on Mount and Blade and Warband, means we'll be seeing a lot of creative gameplay on multiplayer too.

What kind of squad will you guys want to control when Bannerlord is finally released?
