CD Projekt Red made a mobile MOBA based on The Witcher

You might be thinking at this point that the last thing the world needs, is another MOBA. CD Projekt Red would probably agree with you, which is why it's released its MOBA on mobile, not PC, where the idea is commonplace. On smartphones however, it's practically unheard of.

The new game is based on the company's iconic Witcher franchise, featuring some of its most beloved characters - though not Geralt just yet - and lore. Designed specifically with mobile in mind, the game has been tailored to touch screen interfaces and smaller screens, offering shorter, more intense matchups than other MOBAs, whilst still maintaining tactical depth through customisation.

Characters will have a lot of tweakable options and will all be freely accessible. Some of them will need to be unlocked with playtime, but CD Projekt Red made it clear that items you wanted to unlock wouldn't take months of work, merely a few days or at most a week.

Certain vanity items like skins will be buyable with micro-transactions, but nothing game changing and there won't be an in-game currency, so you can don't have to shell out for points you don't need.

There's also been a big emphasis on making the game playable if you're offline, so bot gameplay has been built to be fun and engaging. Matches will be 3vs3 to start with, though CDPR isn't ruling out larger ones in the future.

The game is set to release "soon," on iOS, Android and Windows Phone handsets.
