With Cyberpunk 2077 not being the mega hit that developer CD Projekt Red hoped it would, it's going back to the well of its most recent super-success, The Witcher. The Polish gaming giant has now announced it's working on three new games based in The Witcher's universe, set to release at different points over the next six years.
It's working on a sequel to Cyberpunk 2077, too, but the Witcher news is far more exciting.
Announced on Twitter, CD Projekt Red said that its next game was known as Project Polaris: "A story-driven open-world RPG built on the legacy of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt." It's currently in pre-production, but with over 150 developers working on it, it's going to come on apace. It will act as the first game in a new trilogy for the titular Witcher character (though it may not be Geralt), with all three games coming in quick succession over the next six years.

The next game is codenamed Project Sirius, and will present an "innovative take" on the Witcher universe, and it's currently under development at The Molasses Flood, a CD Projekt Red subsidiary studio which has previously worked on indie-hits like The Flame In The Flood, and Drake's Hollow.
