Check out all the new indie games coming to Nintendo Switch

In a Japanese language Nintendo Direct, we got our first look at a number of interesting indie games set to come to the Nintendo Switch over the next year. Presented by puppet versions of Mario and Peach, you'll need to stomach some rather high-pitched voices as part of the video, but if you're excited about the Switch's potential beyond the bigger first party releases from Nintendo, it's worth a watch.

The first game showed off is Rime, a third person adventure game coming from Grey Box Games. It looks like a cross between Oculus Rift exclusive, Chronos and Journey, with beautifully handcrafted environments to explore and puzzle through. Expect Rime to launch on the Switch in Q3 this year.

Next up is Snake Pass, which is already available on the Switch and has proved to be rather popular with gamers and critics alike. Classic indie puzzle title, World of Goo, was recently ported over to the Switch too, so it makes a quick appearance in the new Direct video as well.

A special edition of overcooked is in the works for the console, charging players with making the best food they can, despite the frantic and dangerous environments. It will show up on the Switch sometime later this year.

Another exciting addition recently released on the Switch is Thumper. Originally a PSVR exclusive, the game has since been brought to the PC and now The Switch too.

Gonner is a disturbing action platformer that shows you don't need in-depth graphics to have an engaging and somewhat creepy experience. Steamworld Dig 2 quickly follows it up with a look at how its gameplay has been expanded and improved over the original. Expect to go deeper and further than ever before, as you uncover the mysteries of the world.

Other games showed off in the latest Nintendo Direct include Fast RMX, Shovel Night, Owlboy Dusty Racing Fist, Graceful Explosion Machine, Has Been Heroes, Backslash, Kingdom Two Crowns, LFO - Lost Future Omega, Mr Shifty, Runner 3, She Remembered Caterpillars, Wargroove, Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap, Cave story +, Yink, Hollow Knight, Little Inferno, Nine Parchments and more.

There are lots of exciting games coming to the Switch in the near future. What are some that you're most excited about?
