Control is Remedy Entertainment's next big game and as has been the case with many of its games in the past, Control is going to push gaming PCs to the limit. The minimum requirements are no slouch, demanding recent-generation processors and mid-range graphics cards, but the recommended requirements are in excess of what the majority of gamers have in their rigs.
Although it will be a mind-bending experience with some unique takes on gravity and lighting, Control has been a poster-child of Nvidia's RTX ray-tracing technology since their combined first reveal. While you don't need to use that lighting technique (or have the hardware required for it) to enjoy Control, Remedy does suggest it if you want the best experience.
But ray tracing aside, here's what you'll need to run the game:
Minimum
- OS: Windows 7, 64-bit
- CPU: Intel Core i5-7500 / AMD Ryzen 3 1300X or better
- GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 / AMD RX580 or better
- Ray-Tracing GPU: GeForce RTX 2060
- RAM: 8GB
- DirectX: Version 11
Recommended
- OS: Windows 10, 64-bit
- CPU: Intel Core i5-8600K / AMD Ryzen 7 2700X or better
- GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080Ti / AMD Radeon VII or better
- Ray-Tracing GPU: GeForce RTX 2080
- RAM: 16GB
- DirectX: Version 12
