Two Counter-Strike: Global Offensive players were banned this week midway through a professional game. It took place during the ELeague qualifier matches, where gamers were caught using wallhacks and aimbots, despite the large numbers of people watching them.
CS:GO has a big problem with cheats. Although still an incredibly popular game and one that employs VAC for cheating counter-measures, it rarely goes far enough and it's well known that a large population of cheats still roams CS:GO's many servers. It's not very common to see it in professional play though, due to the increased scrutiny of players. Some tried to sneak through this weekend and were summarily caught out during play.
You can see a clip of one player, SodaH, who clearly wallhacked at during a game. He tracks players through smoke and walls and his fellow players quickly call him out on it. It's only later in the game though where the anti-cheat system picks up on what he's up to. As PCGamesN highlights, he was banned and left his team facing weighted odds.
He wasn't the only one either, as it turns out another player in the Eleague competition was also employing some unsavory tactics.
What do you think this says of the state of CS:GO? Is its cheating problem out of control?
