The Curious Expedition has received a big update that adds to its traditional desert and jungle exploration gameplay with a new biome to get lost and die in: the Arctic. With chilled winds, and the ever present dangers of polar bears and other region-bound monsters, you'll need to be as well stocked as any other mission to make it back alive with your treasures intact.
The rogue-like strategy game is a difficult quest to undertake in the base game, with many players struggling to make it through to the end of its six missions in one piece, let alone ahead of the rather competent AI. However there are paths to victory using one of the games 20+ explorers to choose from and now one of them leads through the snowy wastes of the Arctic.
Note. This is the launch trailer so therefore doesn't mention the update.
"We have fine-tuned the balancing," says developer Maschinen-Mensch in a Steam post (via PCgamer), "added many UI and Interface improvements, added new treasures and godly curses and items and perks, sound effects, events, ailments, quests... it's too much to list. We'll provide you with a detailed changelog of all the new things and improvements in the coming days".
The update is free for owners of the game and will be applied automatically the next time you boot up Steam.
