The big money that was once a trickle is now starting to pour into Esports, so if you've been thinking about buying a team, now's the time to do it, as the prices are going to go shooting up from here. The owner of the Dallas Cowboys, Jerry Jones, has acquired Complexity Gaming, an Esports organization made up of a number of players in different games, including DotA 2, Hearthstone and CS:GO.
"The growth in professional gaming is incredibly significant," said Jones. "We are proud to be stepping into this space with [investor] John Goff and an industry icon in Jason Lake. The synergies here are endless and I’m confident our resources will continue the growth of Complexity for years to come."
The first part of the transition will involve Complexity moving its headquarters to the Cowboy's HQ in Frisco, Texas, though a new facility will be constructed with offices, production studios and training facilities to help make the team the best it can be. Considering it has struggled to make an impact at several of the past year's major tournaments, this may be the shot in the arm that Complexity needs to help compete on the world stage again.
Complexity founder, Jason Lake, will continue to be a part of the organization and is excited to see what this purchase means for the teams' future.
